Meet the Maker

Hello! My name is Nicole Ashley and I am the sole person behind Efesie & Co. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, and am currently living and creating in the city. I started my journey making candles as Christmas gifts for family back in 2017. From there, I kept learning more about the craft and eventually got into soap making and other body care products.

Soap making is fascinating because it exists at an intersection of art and science. With its roots in chemistry, there is a certain precision to it, while at the same time occasionally feeling like you're riding a bull while praying to the "soap gods." 

I love discovering new fragrances and techniques and creating things that are just as beautiful to look at as they are practical and fun to use. I gravitate towards earthy, unisex scents but I also can't stay away from florals. I take inspiration for my designs from nature, often referencing plants, bugs, and birds for color palettes.

What we stand for

Here at Efesie & Co. we strive to create the best smelling, best looking, and best feeling products out there! We also want to put a huge emphasis on self care, as that's something that I, personally (as a person with less than stellar mental health,) find incredibly important. Taking that extra time for yourself to relax, pamper yourself, and treat yourself just for YOU is key for your mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. Maybe that looks like buying a fancy bar of soap or bath bomb, or maybe it looks like something else. Regardless, it's important. And I want to be able to offer that little sliver of happiness to others through my products.

We also never gender our products. We recognize that there are a wide variety of genders and gender expressions out there, and hey, you like what you like! We're not here to sell you products "for men" or "for women." We're for everyone!
